James Pavlik

Managing Partner

James is a Managing Partner of Icon Wealth Partners and serves on the firm’s Investment Committee. Previously, he was a Managing Director and Client Advisor at Avalon Advisors for 14 years, where he provided investment advice to high-net-worth individuals and their families.  Prior to Avalon, James was a consultant with McKinsey & Company in Dallas where he advised corporations on a wide array of issues ranging from organizational redesign to prioritization of investment opportunities. From 1995 through 2002, James was an advisor in finance and accounting, including positions of Vice President at Schnitzius & Vaughan, a boutique M&A investment bank, and Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

James earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Texas, completing the Plan II and Business Honors programs and graduating magna cum laude in 1994. In 2004, James earned his MBA, with honors, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

James currently serves on the Board of The Center for Pursuit, a non-profit United Way agency, and is a Board Committee member at Royal Oaks Country Club. He previously served on the Boards of the Wharton Club of Houston and the St. Francis Sports Association.
