Martin L. Kerns II

Marty is a Managing Director of Icon Wealth Partners. Before joining Icon, Marty was the CEO and President of Kerns Capital Management (2007-2021) where he provided investment advice to successful individuals and corporate pensions. In addition to managing client wealth, Marty served as a portfolio manager to a ‘40 Act mutual fund (2007 – 2021) that won back-to-back Lipper Fund Awards in 2018 and 2019 for best fund in its class over five years, giving him a unique perspective when constructing client portfolios.

Marty is also a former practicing attorney, having retired as a Partner from one of Houston’s largest law firms in 2007.  He holds a business degree in finance from The University of Texas and law from South Texas College of Law.

Outside of the firm, Marty has served on the Guggenheim Rydex Advisory Board and the National Association of Active Investment Managers Board. He has been a guest speaker on Asset TV and the TD Ameritrade Business Network. He also served for many years as a commissioner and coach to both girls’ and boys’ teams for the Spring Branch Memorial Sports Association.
